Mission Statement: To educate the youth of Third Avenue Missionary Baptist Church on the importance of having the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Savior. Also to create a positive, fun and loving atmosphere which produce effective witnesses and an understanding of how to LIVE FOR CHRIST!
Psalm 32:8 – I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go; I will guide thee with mine eye.”
Key accomplishments while under the direction of Kim Woodson include:
- Combined 4th Sunday Children’s Church service with the Sanctuary Service to form what is now “Unity Sunday.” The change was intended to allow the children to worship with the adults and expose them to proper etiquette during worship service on a regular basis
- Three sets of “husband/wife” instructors teach alongside the other 1st, 2nd & 3rd Sunday promoting strong family structure; and
- Each Children’s Church graduate has met their requirement of graduation by learning & reciting their books of the bible to the congregation prior to transitioning to full service in the Sanctuary
The Nursery is also under the Children’s Church Ministry. The Nursery is opened the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Sunday during the regular service hours are 10:30AM – 1:00PM. The children have gifted teachers that provide age appropriate activities.
